"Get Fit" Tip of the Day - 4 Tips for Post-Thanksgiving Recovery

For most people the meaning of Thanksgiving is feasting! It means gathering around with family, and eating so much you have to loosen a few notches on the belt!

The real meaning is to gather in unity and express gratitude — to give thanks with the abundance of our hearts, it’s time of healing and of sharing our strength and happiness. And Yes, of course we gather to eat and drink with loved ones. And we want to enjoy it too! But do we sometimes forget to eat consciously and joyfully?

Today’s Get Fit tip of the day, 4 Tips for Post-Thanksgiving Recovery Tips!

If you made it through Thanksgiving without overindulging, you are a champion! If you’re like the majority of Americans, then you most likely overindulged. Here are 4 tips to help you get back on track after one of the biggest meals of the year:

Tip 1: Load up on lean protein. Resist the urge to purge on pie for breakfast and instead start your day with a healthy, low-carb, high-protein breakfast.

Tip 2: Avoid the urge to skip meals. Don't starve yourself to “make up” for the extra calories you consumed over the holiday.

Tip 3: Hit a workout! Put all of those stored up calories to use! Hit the gym, run, lift weights – do anything and everything to get your body moving today!

Tip 4: Drink lots of water! Help your body move things along by flushing it out. You can even add lemon – this is a great boost!
